Copy of press release to newspapers in Zambia

UK biotech company chooses to launch new product in Zambia in the fight against malaria.

A revolutionary insecticide coating designed for internal walls of schools, hospitals, offices and houses is to be launched in Zambia. Once painted onto walls, mosquitoes die after touching the surface.

Biotech International Ltd, a UK research company, is hoping to find a partner in Zambia to help in the fight against vector-borne diseases such as malaria and chikungunya.

Mozzi-Mort is a clear coating that will remain active for at least two years and is harmless to humans and other mammals. It has been independently tested by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and is now being registered in countries affected by insect borne diseases.

James Vintcent, Director of Sales for Biotech International Ltd, is in Lusaka to attend the government conference Smart Partnership Mulungushi Dialogue and is also hoping to find the right groups to help Zambia and Southern Africa reduce its malaria burden.

Mr. Vintcent said “This is a fantastic opportunity for Zambia, and we are convinced that this unique product, a result of eight years of research, can make a real difference to the social and economic situation in the country. Losses due to vector-borne diseases such as malaria can be measured in terms of human misery and suffering as well as economic losses to companies and the country. This product can help reduce both.”

Indian launch exceeds expectations as Ministers back Biotech

Two Government Ministers of India lent their support to the launch of Biotech products in Delhi last week. Dr. Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Lt. Gen J R Bhardwaj, of the National Disaster Management Authority, both endorsed Biotech products for use in India. Each addressed the launch, held at the Intercontinental Hotel, New Delhi on 8th May and attended by press and TV.

The event began with the formal completion of the joint venture agreement between Agri Gold Group and Biotech. Agri Gold is an Indian company with direct representation throughout India and the region. It has a first class record in the promotion, marketing and merchandising of healthcare products. To that extent it has, on our behalf, developed EnviroCair for use in an aerosol spray can and engineered an improved diffuser box .It also intends to provide the funding for the development of further vertical products with a consequential increase in Biotech’s value.

John Coombs, CEO, said “The Agri Gold partnership opens up the whole of India to Biotech and, as Agri Gold have over 1,000 direct sub distributors, I fully expect that in time every business, institution and home will benefit from the use of EnviroCair and Mozzi-Mort.”

The Intercontinental presentation was attended by over 80 of the sub distributors and representatives of the national press. The Biotech team was headed by John Coombs, Ian Heard and James Vintcent; Agri Gold by V R Rao, Chairman, and. Standard Organics (Anglo-Indian intermediary company).by Udaya Chembottu and Manjit Kailey.

John Coombs, CEO said “The presence of the two government ministers shows how seriously India takes its responsibilities towards its citizens and the recognition by the Indian authorities of the social and economic threat that viruses, bacteria and insect borne disease pose - a lesson that is yet to be learnt by some European governments. I am most grateful to the people of India for their enterprise and initiative and as we develop I fully expect India to act as a distribution and manufacturing hub for the region.”

The conference concluded with a detailed discussion on order processing, new product development and delivery.
