Biocide International PLC, through its subsidiary company Biotech International Ltd, specialises in identifying and formulating specific chemical compounds to create powder and liquid-based hygiene and healthcare formulations. Each formulation is specific for a particular application. The ultimate task for Biotech products is to eliminate most pathogens; the formulations have also been designed to be active and to inhibit the relevant target bacteria in specific consumer and industrial applications.
Biotech’s additional technical support and data comes from access to well known manufacturers of chemicals such as Lonza GmbH, who distribute products globally, and testing companies such as Evans Vanodine International plc. This support enables the Company to operate within the Government Health & Safety Regulations and in line with the Biocide Products Directive (BPD); all the chemical constituents are registered with the authorities administering the BPD.
The products have also been scrutinised by UKAS and NAMAS (accredited microbiology testing laboratories). This is part of Biotech’s testing programme which allows the adoption of new techniques and assists in the development of the Company’s next-generation products.
The company was founded in 1995. Capital was raised by way of a private placement of shares in 2004.
